Can't get DirectDraw Acceleration or AGP Texture Acceleration to Enable!

Hi everyone, I am REALLY starting to get frustrated with this issue.

This is my system info:

This is my issue:

This is a computer that my school gave me and my entire class. I was going through dxdiag on my and a couple friends' computers and all of their AGP Texture Acceleration and DirectDraw Accelerations are enable. Everything else is the same except:

My friends only have Sound 1 which is labeled Sound on their computers. My Sound 1 and their Sound are the same. My Sound 2 is what I'm concerned about.

Please help me with this problem.

You can try installing the drivers from Intel. The generic drivers bundled with the Windows installation CD's usually don't have optimizations (most notably they don't have OpenGL support).

You'll have to pick your OS there. I'd give you the direct link, but I couldn't tell whether you were using the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Vista Business.
Then just grab the first download. (The second one is for developers.)

Im using 32bit and I tried installing the Intel drivers, I even sent a message to the Intel support team and they didn't even bother to respond.

Another thing to check - just came to mind. Right click on your desktop, pick properties. Go to the settings tab, then click advanced. Pick the troubleshoot tab. Is hardware acceleration on full? Sometimes I toggle it down to troubleshoot overlay problems, and forget to pull it back up, and if I recall correctly, the features you mentioned, like directdraw, direct3D, or agp texturing, can't be enabled then.

The troubleshoot tab only has an Change Settings button thats grayed out because my "display driver does not allow changes made to harware acceleration settings"

Re: Can't get DirectDraw Acceleration or AGP Texture Acceleration to Enable!

I went back on Vista to check it out, and mine says the same - but I have Vista generic drivers (because ATI never released a Vista driver for my card, which is rather old now). I'm pretty much stumped.
When you e-mailed Intel, did you include some diagnostic info?

During my search I also stumbled upon this:

Maybe it's relevant to your problem?

Thx, I'll try sending diagnostic info to Intel. it's mainly DirectDraw I need turned back on, I can't play any good games without it lol. Also some programs my school makes us use require it to be on.

Re: Can't get DirectDraw Acceleration or AGP Texture Acceleration to Enable!

Hey, I've been following this thread since it first posted and I had some thoughts.

First off, PC2TV is a hardware/software solution for wirelessly transmitting audio/video to a TV.

Second, not sure if I am missing something here but no one has talked about re-installing Vista graphic drivers from Toshiba. Is that a viable option?

Hope that helps.
