OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

Windows Vista takes 20 mins to load up?

Hello to you all

I have a new computer 4 weeks old.
It's a Asus Vintage 3000 with Windows Vista home premium.
I usually leave the computer on, but when I shut it down overnight the next morning it takes about 20 minutes to load up. The green bar things go across and stop and then start up again moving a bit and then stop again like it's looking for a start up point.
Once the computer starts up we are not connected to the internet and then spend ages onto service provider to get connected again. Yesterday they couldn't fix it for us, but we put in the belkin disc and it connected to the internet again
We have been told it could be a soft wear problem.
The softwear we have installed since we got the new computer is
- Microsoft Office Home & Student 2007
- Kodak for my Camera
- Adobe Photoshop
- Cannon Pixma ip1500 Printer
- Belkin Router
We had a IT man come and install
- AVG free edition
- he got rid of our Norton
- he installed CC cleaner
- he got rid of Incredimail

and last night the mouse died and wouldn't work!!

I only use the computer to store photos of my clothing designs and spread sheets etc.

Any help or ideas on this issue would be appreciated and I really don't understand computers all that well, not the technical stuff but I will do my best if you have any ideas.
Thanks
