Re: computer will not boot up
Sounds like a startup error to me.
I'm no professional, but I believe when you are missing crucial drivers for booting the OS, your first best bet would be to try a start up repair. You can load it by tapping F8 repeatedly before Windows begin to boot if its already in your computer (dell computers usually already have it in as it is). If its not in your computer, then use the reinstallation disk for the operating system, put it in, boot from disk. Instead of choosing the installation option, chose the repair side option, and you'll be taken to a menu. Chose Startup Repair, and you're all good to go. If this does not help, then I would assume the only other way to go would be to reinstall the OS overall, which means you'd lose all the info on your hard drive. Can you boot in safe mode? It'd be good if you can back up some of your more important files before doing this. |
