sound crackling in vista
hi folks i hope you can help me.
so i have been messing around with my pc over the past couple of days and seemed to have done something. i have been playing the RMclock, undervolting my cpu which seems to be going great, but also i have been in services.msc disabling bits and bobs i dont need. so i didnt disable anything major but i my sound is crackling. it only crackles it seems when itunes is maximised on the screen, if i minimise it to the bar then crackling stops. also it crackles a little bit when i minimised anything else or highlight a button or something graphics related. when i slide the volume slider in the task bar up and down it crackles very softly. weird. so any ideas what i might have done? i have turned off all underclocking software and reset my cpu to its normal power and speed. no change. no gpu clocking on either. thanks in advance. |

Re: sound crackling in vista
update: i have found that disabling desktop window manager starts the crackling, enabling fixes this. does anyone know why this happens? dwm.exe is a drain on resources so i would rather not use it.
any help would be great. thanks |
