Running a Program with UAC on non-UAC

I currently have UAC disabled for many different reasons, I have a program which I want to run WITH UAC ON to gain access to a configuration and data associated with the program while on UAC. But how can I do this while I have UAC disabled, or is it not possible?

Hello jimmytj

Is there any reason why you don`t just re-enable UAC to run the program?

Re: Running a Program with UAC on non-UAC

Well.

It's only one single program, being a game (Call of Duty 4).

I have custom configs etc all set up for it which have taken me ages, and I really dont want to have to enable UAC every time I play it, as it means I have to restart my PC and I sometimes get kicked by punkbuster for things regarding my PC. Not hacking or anything, stuff like COMFAIL and Handshake failures.

But is there any other way, or to enable it without having to go through the full pc restart.

As far as I know you have to reboot for the changes to take effect

Hi,might work depends on how you have your rig set up. Create a desktop icon for the game right click on the icon and select properties then bottom right "advanced" put a check in "run as administrator". Use the icon to start the game and it will run with elevated privileges.

Re: Running a Program with UAC on non-UAC

Hi, I completly misread your post. Might I ask why do you want to do this? There is a program tweakuac might help. I don't know how gpedit could be tweaked to do this might be possible to run a .Bat file at this programs start to turn it on. Have a read TweakUAC:-
http://www.tweak-uac.com/uac-quiet-mode/

Batch file to turn UAC on\off still I think it involves reboot http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/wi...p=704(registry )

Re: Running a Program with UAC on non-UAC

Well.

My reason is I had a level 55 Call of Duty 4 Profile with profiles and challenges on it, and I don't want to re-level it all the way to 55, but when the program is run as admin (UAC off) it resets my rank.

Thanks for the tweak UAC thing, i'll try that.
