AAC to MP3

Hey guys, first off I'm sorry if this isnt the right place for this post. I could find any other place that i thought it would fit in. anyways, i was wondering if there is a way to convert AAC audio files to MP3 files. also if this is illegal (i dont know if it is or isnt) then dont answer this question and im sorry for posting it.

I don't know much about audio, but you can try some of the tools listed in this post

If you have iTunes already on your PC, look around the menus - there may be an option in there to convert AAC to mp3.
I think WinAmp can also do it, not sure though.
