Re: Hellp!! Vista Has De-activated Itself? :(

Have you installed/upgraded or uninstalled any hardware device when that happened?
Also is everything the same hard-disk-wise? (if you reformatted, and somehow successfully re-copied all the files by hand - an unusual, but plausible recovery method - sometimes the volume serial number of the partition won't match, de-activating Windows). There are many times when people will swap hard drives into a computer with the exact same specifications (all the hardware the same) in the hope Windows will start, but that too will deactivate Windows (usually the MAC address is the main culprit, but it could be other things like hard drive (physical) serial number, CD-ROM initialization strings, ROM serial number in some OEM machines, possibly hardware or firmware serial numbers on some hardware devices like motherboards). Microsoft worked very hard to make sure any copy of Windows works on only one computer.

Re: Hellp!! Vista Has De-activated Itself? :(

I recognize your name now. You're the guy who tried moving partitions around. I wonder if Vista also recognizes partition placement and bases activation on that...

Re: Hellp!! Vista Has De-activated Itself? :(

LOL getting known around here eh? hehe .. well check out my post im about to make about my battlefield 2 not working after i system restored my Vista laptop (not my Medion Home Pc for you who know me)

erm yeh back to the point.. yes .. my copy of vista came pre-instaled.. and it keeps crashing sadly :(.. but yeh ... windows de-activated itself ... it said something about software possable being courrupt.. so i removed all programs that i had instaled recent to the time when it happened.. it was saying on the microsoft website ''click here to re valdate windows'' i click and it still said your system needs attention.... so i un-instaled ALL of my programs that i had personaly instaled... still no luck... so i emptyed my recycle bin... cleaned up files using performance and maintanance.. and even used a redgestry cleaner to try and get rid of any courrup key entrys... still no luck ... so i system restored it ... so it returned to its FACTORY STATE<<< thats gonna be important in a minuite.

afterwads i found out that a version of microsoft office a m8 give me was illigitamate :/
so thats more than likley it .. but XP on my Medion home pc had no issues with it... its vista man.... its gettin onto dodgy instalations :S..... is there any way of stoppin windows clockin on to you instaling software?? cause one day it will do it to someting important...
and finaly .... i have had battlefield 2 running perfectly smoothly .. exelent refresh rate.... it was all happy and fine until i restored my system.... NOW IT DOSENT WORK... IT JUST COMES UP WITH A BLACK SCREEN.. AND THEN CRASSHES BACK TO THE DESKTOP.. BUT THE THING IS IS IT DID WORK ABSOLUTLEY FINE... I EVEN WENT AS FAR AS TO DOWNLOAD THE DEMO AND UNINSTAL MY VERSION... AND IT DID EXACTLY THAT SAME THING...
MY LAPTOP (VISTA) IS A COMPAQ CQ50
