Vista and internet connection issue and email issue
And Let me start with... Sorry for my lack of correct terminology and THANKS SO MUCH FOR BEING HERE YOU ARE APPRECIATED!!! Ok I have two things I need help with. I have one pc that has Windows vista on it and the 5105 modem. (Business pc) Some how the connection become corrupt. Vista will not let you delete the connection. I would like to know how to reset the modem and the connection. I have tried all I have read with no luck. And I would like to know how to set up this scenario: I want to get my email at both of these locations. both Pc have Cable modem business pc: (Windows vista Motorola 5105 modem.) And Home: WinXP PRO Motorola SB 5120 modem). I am not using a Router on either machine. Don’t know if this matters but the location is right across the parking lot. And I am using Separate internet connections as one is bus and the other is home. I also do not have any wireless equipment. (Don’t know if you needed that info...) All the email was working fine and I was successfully getting email at both locations. Then the problem started out with me only being able to receive my Email from my Vista and the not on the Winxp pro system. On the XP pro the email would only be available to me on the website of my provider. outlook it just acts like there is nothing to receive. (When it is set to leave on the server of course.) at that time I was able to get it fine on the Vista pc . until that connection became corrupt and now I can not even get on the internet. My vista was saying "Local internet only" My ISP says they can see my modem but not Talking to my pc.. what ever that means.. :?: They seem to be little help anytime I call... I also am seeing the error "Restart the DHCP Client Services." When I tell it it fix it it says it tried but it has still not fixed the problem. Here is some addional info: Cound not ping the 192.168.100.1 Transmit failed Error code 1231 Ok here is the ipconfig : Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001] Copyright (c) 2006 Microsoft Corporation.
