Failed to connect to a windows service
Hi guys,
I recently (as of last month) finished a custom build and installed Vista HP 32-bit. All was running fine until today when I got the message 'Failed to connect to a windows service Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service.' when I start up and log on. I noticed that the computer wasn't playing right when it wouldn't log on to my yahoo email address and also Outlook wouldn't receive new messages. I restarted and found it took an age to log on, and then I get the message mentioned above whenit did. Also, the Side bar does not show up properly and the wireless card does not pickup any signal and displays another error message. I have looked at it under the services section and it is running as 'Automatic' and it is set to restart if it fails the first and second time. However, it never says 'Started' but only 'Starting'. Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Failed to connect to a windows service
Hi. . .
I would suggest that you perform a system restore - choose yesterday or the day before as a restore point - START | type rstrui.exe into the start search box and hit enter Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |

Re: Failed to connect to a windows service
Thanks for the help, but unfotunately it did not work. I have tried restoring to a previous day but the problem still persists and a message says something like it could not restore properly for some reason.
This is really annoying and looks like I'll have to do a complete reinstall of Vista. |
