Windows Vista starter edition help

I got a laptop with windows vista starter edition and well here at my university we have a network and use the softperfect network scanner to scan different systems and access the files they have for sharing, but my computer doesn't access the files whilst the others running xp can, mine doesn't even give any options it just displays the sytems and nothing else. please help me

Hi khankhagan, certain network features are not available in the starter edition of Vista:

Only solution would be to upgrade to a more feature rich version of Vista or change OS completely.
