[SOLVED] Issues With Several Things

I have an HP pavillion dv6000 laptop. It came pre-installed with Norton Internet Security. My bf tried removing the Norton, however it encountered an issue during removal. Now all I get is Norton UI Stub stopped working. I can not even get the Firewall to turn off as I dont have the first clue as to if it will allow me to because I dont know where it'slocated or if it is only half there. Same with AVG it unnistalled yet it still shows in the add and remove programs. I am trying to simply get a chat box through xatech.com and this chat box keeps saying connection error (F) if I press the control C I get connection error (T) it wont give me any options as the options are blank in the help button.All I know is it says connection problems, or something to do with my browser settings. Yes I am a mess right now, I tried downloading the Norton removal tools but the laptop is not allowing me too. Please any advice on these issues would be wonderful.

Hi Likeafinenewwine69, I was going to suggest the Symantec removal tools but you mentioned you're having problems downloading them. What error messages do you get when you try downloading them?

Have you tried using a different browser such as firefox or opera to get the tools and/or connect to xatech?

It won't let me download them at all, it goes partial the way through and then nothing. It doesnt even give me an error to it. I have tried with IE 7 and Firefox 3.0 so I am confused, as to what options I have. The chat will not let me in no matter what browser I try. The chat just gives me the fact that there is something wrong with my connection. I don't know or if I can set the browser settings to allow it, or even if Norton Firewall will allow me being so messed up and turned on. So if you have a clue please let me know what I can try.

check the windows firewall is not also activated

Has been dealt with, Apparently the site I was trying to download the Norton removal tools was the issue itself. I got them downloaded and removed and have had no issues since. Thanks for giving me the links to get to the or I would have just gotten frustrated and probably given up. Once that happened the chat box worked just fine. Once again thanks.
