Installation problem with vista ultimate. Black screen after start up.

Can somebody help please. After deleting my vista home premium os by mistake from my laptop, i purchased vista ultimate. This installs and restarts to the start up page. The problem i have is it then restarts it self and the screen then goes black after start up and nothing else happens. The lights on my laptop but there is nothing on the screen. What can i do to complete the full installation, i really need my pc up and running asap.

Deleting by accident? id take a guess and say the hard disk needs to be fully formatted before installing ultimate

Thanks for your reply. I had start up problems and my friend thought he could fix it, and deleted it! Which was great as i lost all my personal photos and files. Could you tell me how to format the hard disk, i'm not very good at this type of thing!

Well u either put a magnet over ur hard drive to completely wipe the drive so it can be reuse or stick in a Vista disk either a Anytime update disk so when u install from the disk it will give u a opion where u can formatt the hard drive

plus when installing any win software there should be a formatt button anyway on any vista disk.
