Please help!! Ethernet problem
Hello, my name is matt and I have a brand new Dell Latitutude D830...i am at college and the wireless doesnt work inside my dorm jail cell...i bought an ethernet cable to fix the problem but it seems i cant create a connection between the colleges wall jack and mine...I have a cat 5 cable and have tried using a different cable and also trying my laptop in somebody elses room to no avail....I am wondering if any1 has suggestions as to what to do. At first i created a broadband connection and i believe i created the problem because when first logging on the the internet it asked for a password for the broadband connection.....i believe if i never created the connection it would have recognized the connection was to local area...please help if possible
