[SOLVED] Adobe error message on startup
I have a minor but annoying problem. I had an error while downloading an Adobe program. I can't really remember the specifics because at the time it wasn't a big deal. However, now every time I start Vista the following error message appears:
"Could not load or run C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Manager.exe specified in the registry. Make sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the registry." Well, obviously the file doesn't exist because the download never finished and the folder it's trying to find doesn't exist either. How do I remove a registry reference to a program that never existed? |

Re: Adobe error message on startup
well one way would be and many may not agree with me on this but it has always worked for me and friends and never had a problom download ccleaner and install it on the left side of the program window you will see a tab labeled registry if im not mistaken click it and click scan for issues when done click fix selected issues it will give you an option to backup your registry if you want to you can i personally just bypass it and start the clean up repeat this process untill it finds no more issues let us know how it goes

Re: Adobe error message on startup
Hi allezparis
Download this. Unzip and run. Look under the HKCU/Run, HKLM/Run and RunOnce Tabs. Find the offending entry and delete it. |

Re: Adobe error message on startup
Unfortunately, neither of the proposed solutions worked. Adobe Download Manager was not available to uncheck as a startup program (it never actually installed) and CCleaner did not find the registry entry for it.

Re: Adobe error message on startup
allezparis...I have the exact same problem. I tried to find the registry key but had no luck. Then I did as others have mentioned above and used a couple other registry key cleanup and repair programs as well, but it still hasnt fixed it. Please post if you have managed to fix the problem...thanks.

Re: Adobe error message on startup
Look I had the same problem, and i fixed it really easy:
start-> run-> regedit now search for the entry, u can use the hotkey or from the menu->edit->search; now u input the entry or part of it so its easier 2 locate, for instance i typed "Roaming\Adobe\Manager.exe", u hit enter and it starts looking, itīll show the first match, if it isnt the right one, press f3 so it looks for the next, dont get nervous its really easy and quick, uīll finally run into it, make sure is teh right one and delete it, close restart "et voile" no more messages |
