Missing Memory Usage
I have been using Vista Ulimate for over a year now on my Shuttle PC. To date i have had minimal problems with it.
However, in the last week the memory has gone nuts. I use my computer for photography and gaming. (Not at the same time) For instance, when playing Team Fortress, Vista likes to minimize the game and tell me to shut it down as I am out of memory. Fair enough if the system taskmanager tells me I am - but I have played it for 6 months without anything like this happening. The same is true of my graphics programs - Photoshop, Lightroom, PhotoMatrix - are all shut down because the memory is out of juice. I tried the memory dump icon using this path: "%windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks" But that has had no effect. I have also tweaked Vista to clear the Pagefile at shutdown - again no effect My specification is as follows:
I have taken a couple of screen caps that show memory usage against system usuage. ![]() ![]() To me they dont seem to tallying? Any ideas on what has gone wrong/how to fix it. |
