[SOLVED] Can't Delete It
Hi, i downloaded an application to my computer but I decided I did not need it. It's sitting on my desktop but when I try to delete it, a little box pops up that says "destination folder access denied". If I click try again, it just keeps popping up. Help?

Hi Ploo. . . To delete that file, perform the following (you will need to change the USERNAME and FILENAME.TXT): Click on START | type cmd.exe into the start search box | right-click on cmd.exe that appears above | select Run as Administrator | a small black command prompt (DOS) screen will appear. Issue the following commands, replacing the user and file name - and hit enter after each line is entered: Code:
cd\users\USERNAME\desktop del FILENAME.TXT Please let me know of the results. Regards. . . jcgriff2 |

Re: Can't Delete It
Hi. . .
I am glad that it worked and you were able to rid your desktop of the offending file. This method is sort of a back-door approach within Windows, utilizing two old, but rather efficient DOS commands. Regards. . . jcgriff2 . |
