Vista Lag

I recently Installed Vista SP1 Ultimate x64. I am having this annoying lag on the desktop where everything gets choppy for sometime and then it goes back to normal. It shows the CPU usage as 5% so i dont think thats the problem. There is also a weird issue when the monitor turns off after 10min and I move the mouse it'll turn on but the desktop will be unresponsive unless I press ctrl + alt + del and then esc.

System Specs:

GPU: Ati Radeon 4870
CPU: Intel Q9450
RAM: G.skill 8500 4GB

Thanks for any help.

Re: Vista Lag

I've already posted my Speed-Up-Vista instructions once today and in my time zone we're only 2 hours into it

Your main problem is probably that you're using Aero, change your theme back to Classic

Re: Vista Lag

With the system specs it shouldn't LAG. It should run flawlessly.
