Explorer Crashes when Unzipping Files

everytime i attempt to open a file inside a zip folder or to remove the files from the zip folder my explorer crashes. This has only started recently.

I dont know what the problem is sorry, but i have an alternative for you (so that you can unzip/open the files until this is fixed)...

You can use 7Zip as an alternative Zip/Unzip program... it's here:

http://www.7-zip.org/

As for the actual problem, it could be malware based, it could be missing files/damaged files... Anyway i suggest you read this thread and follow the instructions: http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html

p.s. can you link this with any other event (e.g: when it started)?
And how long ago did it start happening? (because you could try use system restore)

Ive ran Malware scans and I can't think of anything that would link to this.

Yeah me neither really, but i don't know how windows encorperates the unzipping into it's shell... But if i were to guess i'd think it was a system dll laying around in C:/windows/ or C:/windows/system32/ which handles it... if anyone knew what it was that would help?

As i said, if it's only started happening recently you could try using system restore to restore the PC back to before it was happening....

Same problem. 7zip works better than explorer ever did anyways so don't go back to explorer ever.
