Games won't work

I wasn't sure which forum to put this but here goes.

About a week ago i had to reload Vista on my computer, prior to that almost all the games I have worked to some degree. Granted some of the game have come out more than 8 years ago games like Nocturne, the Tex Murphy games, etc... Anyway, now the game do not work. They install just fine, as far as I know. But when I go to play any of the games, the same thing will come up for almost all of them. Whichever game it is, will say it has stopped working.

Outside of reloading vista I haven't hardware or any other programs on my computer. I've had to reload vista a couple of times before and my games would work just fine after having reinstalled them.

If more info is needed from me, let me know I'll be happy to oblige.

Someone please help me, I love playing the games and I don't want to have to trash them.

Did you reinstall motherboard drivers?

As far as I know I've loaded necessary drivers.

So you did install chipset drivers.

yes i have. I re-checked today to make sure they were loaded and updated.

I tried playing other games since my earlier posts, even the ones I'm positive I've played with no problems on this computer, will not play.

In device manager, in display adapter does it show the proper card,
or onboard video device, or just vga mode?

It shows proper card.
