Problems With steam/ terrible MS.

Hey there, im using windows vista 64bit.

For the last 2 weeks when i open up Steam to play counterstrike source, my ping appears fine but when entering the game i have random ping spikes and continuously high ping/ms.

Ive run a cmd. check ping to servers when not in game and it appears fine.

When running windows defender (just got back from Egypt off holiday it came up with the following)

Description:
This program has potentially unwanted behavior.

Advice:
Permit this detected item only if you trust the program or the software publisher.
