Desktop in Vista shows no icons, just the background.
Can anyone help please????
For some reason anytime I log into my computer, my icons/shortcuts will be there for a few seconds and then they disappear. I can reaccess them for a few seconds by logging out as the user and relogging in. But the same thing happens. I've rebooted, I've made sure the 'view desktop icons' is checked on. Once my icons disappear, I cannot right click to do anything with properties, etc. However, my gadgets (time/calendar) stay on the desktop. Thanks to anyone can help. |

Does the start bar dissapear?... if so then i believe it's an explorer.exe problem, i'd suggest posting a hijackthis log in the appropriate forum(it may show what the problem is)

Re: Desktop in Vista shows no icons, just the background.
Also, sometimes the icons will disappear for a few seconds and then reappear as if it is resetting itself over and over again. So, if I'm trying to go into the control panel to find out info, it will exit me out, the icons will disappear and then reappear again. It will continue to do this. THen other times, the icons will stay gone forever. Just typing this is a problem because it keeps taking my cursor away. WEIRD!!!! Vista is a problem.
