Vista PROGRAMS List
I've been trying to figure out how to modify the PROGRAMS LIST on the Vista HOME PREMIUM Start Menu.
Trouble is, everything I locate either seems to apply to Vista PRO. Or, describes how to change the "layout" of the Start Menu; meaning the right side icons for such things as the "Control Panel" / "My Documents" / etc. What I'm trying to do is bring under control the seemingly endless list of programs that I have loaded. Each time I load a program, still yet another "line" gets added to the Programs List on the Start Menu. I'm trying catagorize them. like I did in XP, into a more organized fashion. So I've read, there some kind of Hidden Directory I need to access. But, I can't find it. Thanks. |

Re: Vista PROGRAMS List
Hello ashejoe
With regards to the program list itself you should be able to delete the programs that don't matter or you don't need direct access to as the majority of these programs are just shortcut's. You should be able to locate their main storage folder in these two locations C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu With regards to the layout and altering the start menu, i have Home Premium so i know that these tweaks work ![]() Registry Tweaks For Vista Basic & Home Premium Start Menu: 1. Select Start, type Regedit and select Regedit from the results. 2. Navigate to the following: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer 3.
