BSOD while gaming only
First i'll post my specs.
Motherboard=Biostar NF520-A2 AM2 socket CPU=AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz RAM=Corsair XMS DDR2 800 PC6400 1024x2(2 gigs) Video card=ATI Radeon x1650 Pro 512 PCI-E PSU=Corsair HX 620 watt OS=Windows Vista 32-bit This is a pretty much fresh install of Vista, only weeks old at most. My problem is I occasionally get an instant BSOD while playing Call of Duty 4:Modern Warfare. Sometimes I can hop on and play for 2 hours with no probs. Sometimes it will happen once within that 2 hours. Sometimes I have to play 4-5 hours to get it to happen. But it NEVER happens within the first hour or so of playing. Here are all the error reports and information that I could gather. I have noticed a .exe in my processes running within the last week. I have not seen it running up until the last week at most and I check my processes several times every single day. The process is "unsecapp.exe" Here is a link to good information on what it is. http://searchtasks.answersthatwork.c...?File=Unsecapp Based on what this says it leads me to believe that a recent bad experience with installing iTunes has caused windows to think it needs to have this running. I tried to install iTunes and got a lot of BSODs telling me "driver_not_less_or_equal blah blah" so I uninstalled itunes immediately and it stopped. But as you can see, this process is related to WMI, which seems to be producing Error 10 when I crash now. When the computer recovers from the BSOD this is the error information I am given. Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.2 Locale ID: 1033 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: fc BCP1: 805F0E64 BCP2: 00A76963 BCP3: 805F0D8C BCP4: 00000000 OS Version: 6_0_6001 Service Pack: 1_0 Product: 768_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini060708-01.dmp C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-26270-0.sysdata.xml C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\WER7B27.tmp.version.txt When I look in the Event Viewer I find the following three errors happening within 5 minutes of the crash. These are also the only errors in the hour leading up to the crash. Error ID: 10 Source:WMI Time: 4:33:09 PM " Event filter with query *SELECT* FROM_InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected. " Event ID: 6008 Source: EventLog Time: 4:31:11 PM " The previous system shutdown at 4:31:11 PM on 6/7/2008 was unexpected. " Event ID: 15016 Source: HttpEvent Time: 4:32:58 " Unable to initialize the security package Kerberos for server side authentication. The data field contains the error number. " Some additional information......with my previous HD and OS(Windows XP Home, diff HD) I was having an issue where while playing COD4 I would suddenly have a very weird freeze. The CPU wouldnt freeze, the game didnt freeze, MY MOUSE/KEYBOARD did. The only thing different from running normally is that my keyboard AND mouse simply stop responding. I don't lose connection, in fact that game just keeps playing and my player just runs forward like hes lagging until i'm shot. Nothing I can do aside from a hard reboot will fix this problem. It also seemed to happen at the very same intervals that this problem does. Once every couple of hours, but never within the first hour of play. Once it happened once it started to occur more often until I just give COD4 a break for a half day or so. So that HD crashed about a month ago. I got a new HD and installed Vista on it. Guess what? SAME PROBLEM was happening initially, absolute same problem. The only difference was that one time when it happened, it snapped itself out of whatever this is and everything continued to work fine. And one time it was ONLY the mouse that did this, the keyboard allowed me to exit out and restart my machine. I had tried reinstalled all drivers and it didnt work. Then I switched to Vista and a new HD. So I know this particular instance is a software issue. My mouse is an Microsoft Wireless Intellipoint Explorer 2.0. The keyboard is an OLD generic keyboard that came with a computer I bought literally years ago. Its drivers are installed by default by the MOBO. I believe strongly that my mouse was causing this freeze up. The reason I bring this up is.....this BSOD seems to be replacing this odd freeze up, instead of having this freeze up I just get BSOD now. Or atleast thats the way it seems because I havent seen this mouse/keyboard freeze up i'm only seeing the BSOD now. I hope someone can help me, and please refrain from giving me beginner tips or advice. Such as reinstall drivers and restart your computer. Please dont waste your time insulting me like that. Re: BSOD while gaming only
Once I do this, it will stay on the BSOD screen. What do I do to most safely restart my computer after that? Also....I can post a hijackthis report and attach my dump files if you would like? I ran a memtest and it came back no probs.

Re: BSOD while gaming only
write down the error in full and post it in the reply box
you just restart the computer after writing it down you need to determine what's wrong before posting a hijack log

Re: BSOD while gaming only
Alright i've got it turned off, I just played for like 2-3 hours with no problems. I ran this script(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950375/en-us) and it pretty much exterminated all of my Error 10s. Once I get it to BSOD again I will post immediately. Ty for your time and help.
