establishing a lan connection and vista problem
Hello,
I'm afraid I'm terrible with computers, so I wanted to apologise in advance. I have just bought an acer extensa 5420 and have installed vista home premium. I cannot establish a lan cable connection. Under "manage network connections" the lan connection does not show up. Only "broadband connection." If anyone can help me, I would be deeply greatful. Best, Susan |

Sounds like you need to install drivers for your LAN, was this pre-installed? Do you have a "utilities" disk or something similar? Best bet is to go to the manufacturers support site and download the LAN or NETWORK drivers then install them.
I am surprised the LAN drivers are seemingly missing in your Premium installation though? hth Jonah |
