Hello I am writing from my girlfriend's laptop because Windows Vista has locked me out of mine.
There is only one user account with Vista on my laptop and the account's profile will not load up after I type in my password. The password is correct and Vista does not say that it is incorrect, it just says that the account profile cannot be loaded up. How do I deal with this when I cannot get to my desktop? |

Re: Help! Vista has locked me out!
The error message that I read after I try to log on with my good password is in French but in English it would go something like this:

Re: Help! Vista has locked me out!
just tried to repair the computer by pressing F8. It asked me for my admin password and when I typed in the right pass, it told me that the account has been disactivated!
Everything was working well last night. How can an account be disactived during the night? |

But as you stated you tried safe mode, but it still didn't work. Then I can only suggest you call MS because I have never ever heard of anyone not being able to login using safe mode. But before you do that, run your Vista DVD and choose System Restore, and then click Next. Then follow the rest of the steps and then reboot and see if it loads. Somehow your account has been corrupted, so restore is the only thing that I can recommend (If you have any restores that is) Then Click to choose a restore point that represents a time that you could log normally into Vista, and then click Next. Re: Help! Vista has locked me out!
I am back on my computer now having done a system restore from the Windows DVD. I got lucky because the last system restore was done 2 days previously. I installed a new 3D screensaver, perhaps that corrupted my account;
thanks |

Re: [SOLVED] Help! Vista has locked me out!
It has just happened again! Good job I tried to log on to my computer before I went to work this morning as I had the Vista DVD at hand. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening?
