Windows Vista Slowing Down And Firefox Not loading pages...

Yeah so I guess the title speaks for itself...
My computer is slowing down like crazy...
It takes a while for me open documents or anything...
the window will come up blank and stay blank for about 30 seconds and then everything would pop up...
My firefox is also messing up...
Some of the pages will load but pages like yahoo will not load...
It will just forever sit there trying to load...
I don't know what to do...
Please Help...I need my internet for classes...all my notes are online...
Internet Explorer stopped working ever since I got my new laptop...
So I got Firefox and now that doesn't work...
I checked my firewalls and I changed the settings so it doesn't interfere with firefox...and it still doesn't load pages...I dunno if it's my DNS...I have no way to check it...

Re: Windows Vista Slowing Down And Firefox Not loading pages...

By the way I connect to the internet wirelessly and I checked my connection and it's fine...but i checked my network map and instead of having a solid line from my laptop to my router I have a broken Solid line to my router and a straight solid line to the internet...I don't know if that has anything to do with it...but I noticed that...any help would be helpful...
