Where to begin?
My computer does a few things that i would prefer it not to. For one, every time i boot up my system, it recommends that i check my C drive for errors. It gets through stage one fine, but it only gets to about 21% on stage two. At this point it freezes and the only thing i can do is turn the computer off holding the power button. The next problem comes with connecting to my wireless network. 9 times out of 10 it will connect, but then there are times when it will only connect with limited connectivity and it takes a few restarts to bring it back. Thirdly, the blue screen of death appears every now and then. Usually this appears when i'm not home and i return to find a message saying that windows has recovered from an unexpected restart. I have attempted to back up my C drive onto my external, but it says that one or more files are corrupted and that i should check the disk for consistency, which brings me right back to square one. I have attempted to run in safe mode, (both regular and command mode), but that freezes up before it runs as well. Any advice at all would be great. Thanks. |

Re: Assortment of Errors
Hi mjstokes. . . Welcome back to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support! I suggest that you check three areas for some answers: The Event Viewer: START | type eventvwr.exe into the Start Search box | select Event Viewer up top | when Event Viewer comes up, select Administrative Events towards the top left of your screen Also check Problem Reports and Solutions - START | type wercon.exe into the Start Search box | select Problems Reports and Solutions up top And the Device Manager - START | type dev man into the Start Search box | select Device Manager up top | Click on View and select Show Hidden Devices | Look for any red/yellow flags Good Luck to you. Regards. . . jcgriff2 |
