I have just bought a new linksys router, and a laptop. I have a desktop running vista, and I have my laptop running vista. How can i configure the network to let me share files through the linksys router?

Re: Networking over a wireless router
Quote:
Hi amoliski. . . Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support! To set up the public folder file sharing between the two Vista systems, perform the following: START | Network | click on Network and Sharing Center (up top) | Under the heading - Sharing and Discovery - turn on the various settings starting with Network Discovery. Should you want to share additional files besides the Public folder, do the following: START | Computer | go to the folder/file in question, right-click on it | Properties | Sharing | click on Share - this will allow sharing with the "Everyone" group - meaning anyone connected to your router that has the applicable permission settings. Good Luck to you. Regards. . . jcgriff2 |
