SQL Server Database associated with .mdf

I found out that I can't mount my .mds files. Then, I suspect that it is because my .mdf files are now associated with my SQL Server 2005. Meaning, the icon is the icon of the SQL Server program. But when I tried opening it, it gives me the "Open With" window.

How can I make it a "alone" file? (The icon is just a white page).

What do you mean by "alone file"?

And right click on a .mds file , Properties, General, and next to "type of file" click on CHANGE.

And then scroll to the desired program you want to associate the file with and then that program will open those files.

Re: SQL Server Database associated with .mdf

For example:
.mds:
Type of file: MDS File (.mds)

.mdf:
Type of file: SQL Server Database Primary Data File (.mdf)

So, I want the .mdf file's "type of file" be the same description as the .mds.
