Sound issue. Poping in speakers, that register on the mixer.

Hi there. I have a weird sound issue that I have been trying to solve for a while now.

Basically i have these pops/clicks every now and again when playing any type of sound, whether it be DVD or song or media file.

The pops actually register in Sony Vegas on the Master track mixer as sudden peaks in sound, but only ever on the left hand channel.

This is weird as it means it isn't coming from a dirty connection between speakers and the sound card. If open up the volume box on the task bar, you can see when the pops happen in the mixer. I don't what it could be.

I have tried turning off quad sli, and i have tried using the on board sound but this annoying pop is still there.

My specs are:

Motherboard: Asus Striker 2 formula 780i
Graphics Card: Nvidia 9800 GX2 x 2 in quad sli
4GB ram
Sound Card: Creative Audigey Sound Blaster SE 7.1
Speakers...just in case: Logitech x-240
Processor: Core 2 Extreme QX9650

I think thats all. Any help would be amazing. Editing really has slowen down, as far as audio goes, as i can't properly adjust soudn due to this. It's weird how the pops are actually produced by the computer

PS All drivers are up to date
