[SOLVED] Sound problems in internet browsers
Whenever a sound is generated from a web broswer (I have tried Firefox and IE with the same result) it quickly fades into nothingness. For example if playing a game like Bloons, whenever an arrow is shot the sound is okay at first but then disappears after a short distance, until the arrow hits something and a new sound is generated. A result of this is when watching a video on youtube (or any other site with videos), I only get sound the first second of the video and then it's gone. If I turn the volume up a lot I can make out a sound that without question comes from the video, but it's more like noise than actual sound.
I have the same problem with both Flash and Shockwave content. I can't figure out any other utilities to test. Background music from a site like http://www.callofduty.com/ works fine though. I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit with SP1, Firefox 2.0.0.14, Flash Player 9. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer with the latest drivers; 2.15.0006. I have tried reinstalling both Flash and Shockwave. Cause and solution? |
