OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
|
Alright, so my brother comes to me a couple of days ago with an interesting issue: He uses Vista Home Premium, and as of May 13th when he went to sleep, his computer was perfect. Upon waking up the next morning, his computer didn't recognize his mouse. He has a PS2 mouse hooked up, and the PC just quit recognizing it. Thinking it was the mouse, I swapped it out for a new PS2. Nothing.
Thinking it might be the port, I decided to try a USB mouse. Nothing. Deciding I was too lazy to do anything, I did a system restore back to the 13th and it worked perfectly. Upon restarting the computer, it didn't work...again. So I try to transfer my diagnostic tool to the PC and see what's up. The device manager says that the unknown devices (USB mouse/flash drive) are there, but they don't show up. Determining that this is therefore above my head, I just decided to ask you guys before I screw anything up. Any ideas? |
