Nero 7 Essentials

I have an OEM version of Nero 7 Essentials (from Fujitsu Siemens) running on my Windows Vista Home Basic based Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo laptop. It has an Optiarc DVD RW drive, and I was wondering how I could burn videos from my Panasonic mini-DV camera onto a DVD-R or RW. I can get the videos onto my computer just fine, but if I put them into Windows Movie Maker or Nero, I only get the chance to burn a VCD.

I'd prefer not to pay for any more software, so if I need to I'll manage with VCDs, but I would prefer DVDs.

Thanks

Re: Nero 7 Essentials

what format is it transfering over to your computer? you can try a free converter of the web to maby transfer it to mpeg or avi. i have nero 7 enhanced and sometimes if i'm not paying attention and acidently click vcd or cd or something and i want it to be on a dvd, when i put the dvd in before i get all the way to the burning process, it will automaticly change it to dvd for me. why can't you just click the dropdown menu in nero startsmart and click dvd, go to photo and video, and click make a dvd movie. if that option isn't even up there, than its because its an oem version and almost everything you click it tells you that you have like 30 days to use that certain feature. i just went and bought the store version. you have to give me a little bit more detail to what exactly what problems you are having. maby your laptop is a dvd rom only. please provide more details.

Re: Nero 7 Essentials

My laptop has a DVD-RW drive. The problem is that I want to convert my own movies from my DV Camera to DVD, but my only option DVD wise is data ir to copy an existing DVD. I can make a video or picture VCD, but not DVDs.

Re: Nero 7 Essentials

I can save them as any of the formats in Windows Movie Maker, i.e. .avi or .wmv (several different bitrates for wmv). Thanks for your help by the way.

Re: Nero 7 Essentials

you must not have the dvd-video plugin cause its the oem version, not the full version. the plugin is 24.99 and the plugin is just a serial that they email or send to you. after buying it, go to nero startsmart and click the button at the bottom right corner that has a flame in it. there you will click add serial and when you put it in, it will be under the main serial and say dvd-video plugin. i'm at school right now but if you can wait till i get home tonight, i can give you my keygen for all full nero versions (essentials, ultra, premium) and all plugins (dvd-video, dts, mp3 pro, ect...) just pick a version you want and put it in. from oem to full. and the plugins of your choice. or you can buy it, your choice. go here for more information.
