[SOLVED] messenger chat logs problem

l have a Widows Vista. Also from my messenger live plus , all my chat logs is stored to my computer .l delite them but when l type on search for exsample first later of some e-mail address still shows whole e-mail address. How do l remove all those chat history from my computer . l dont want anyone to see the e-mails l have been chating with? PLEASE HELP

Welcome to TSF

Have you turned off the chat history setting in messenger live?

Open messenger and select
tools\options\messages\message history

unchecked *automatically keep a history of my conversations*

l have already done that my computer still saves all my chat history.

If you have unchecked the automatically keep a history of my conversations option then the only way that this could keep saving is if your security system is creating backup files i.e Norton

Where about are the files being saved from messenger? (Open messenger and select
tools\options\messages\Save My Conversations In This Folder)

However i have been informed that sometimes Microsoft can switch the monitoring on if you have checked the Allow Microsoft To Collect Anonymous Information...
It doesn't send the mail to Microsoft but keeps a copy of the messages to count up later to turn into statistics

To switch this feature off

Open messenger and select
tools\options\General\Quality Improvement

unchecked *Allow Microsoft To Collect Anonymous Information About How I Use Windows Live Messenger*

and delete chat folder, If you have windows Live Mail, its found in the same location in WLM
