Need help! - blocked program at startup?
I've just purchased NTI shadow for windows in an attempt to automate the backup process of some files. Installation was successful, but after re-booting my PC I got the message "windows has blocked some startup programs, click here"
If I go into startup programs, I can see the item on the list, but under classification it says "not yet classified". What does this mean? In help it suggests checking the site for an updated version of the program that doesn't require authorisation at startup, but there isn't one? I have tried contacting NTI but have had no answer. Any help, very much appreciated!!!

Re: Need help! - blocked program at startup?
Hello totalbeginner
![]() Click start and type Windows Defender(in the Search just above the Start Orb). From the tools, click on the Software Explorer. Change the dropdown to startup programs, then click on one of the programs that is blocked from the list. The 'enable' button on the lower right should become an option for you to click. Note You may need to click the "SHOW FOR ALL USERS BUTTON" at the foot of the page. This will activate the Remove-Disable-Enable buttons when you select a program on the list

I've also tried running the program as an administrator, but this has made no difference. Tried to contact NTI, but the response from their tech support was a joke. She just sent me a link to the UAC help pages on the microsoft site. What is it about this program that VISTA is stopping vista from allowing it to run at startup? It's sooooo frustrating!!!! |

Re: Need help! - blocked program at startup?
Use the task scheduler to have it run at logon or startup. You can select to have it run with highest privileges in the scheduler.
