pen drive not showing up in my computer!!

as soon as i insert a pen drive the computer enters a processing state and doesnt come out. the system tray icon shows "installing drivers" then "drivers installed".. if i click on that icon it shows safely remove hardware now clicking on safely remove hardware nothing happens.clicking on my computer the my computer window appears but removable drive does not appear as a result i cannot access my pen drive.The system then hangs up completely and stops responding and sometimes even greys out!!
plz help!!

my pendrive is not showup in my computer but it installed properly.

while connecting the usb drive , it is not showing in my computer, pls help
