Good Morning Mr. Phoenix. . .

Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support!

First a question - did the Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) occur before or after the use of the registry booster - or both?

As you may know, each Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) leaves a memory dump behind. Please get them and send them to me and I will take a look at them to see if a probable cause can be determined.

The memory dump files should be located in c:\windows\minidump\ - the dump files will be named similar to "Mini042008-01.dmp". Get them all - regardless of the number.

Two other items that I would like are: (1) A Belarc Advisor report saved in "mht" format (Top right of Internet Explorer screen; Page; Saved as; save as mht), as a web page (html), as a Word document or as a PDF. You can download Belarc HERE; (2) A DXDiag report - START | type dxdiag into the Start Search box | right-click on dxdiag.exe | select Run as Administrator | respond to User Access Control prompt. Then save this report as a text file.

Then zip them all up and send to me via email. I'll send you a PM with the address. *** IMPORTANT - please be sure to place your screen name in the subject area and a link to this thread in the body of the email.

Please be patient - I have several other cases to process. Should you have any questions, please POST again or send me a PM.

Regards. . .

jcgriff2

Hi. . .

So I assume that you thought the registry booster would stop the BSODs?

Did the BSODs intensify after the use of the registry booster?

Did you perform a system restore or change anything in the system after the registry booster was installed? (I need to know if the files I will find in the memory dumps PRIOR to the introduction of the registry booster are still in your system now - that the reports will contain).

Please take your time with the info for me - I am not out of stock on memory dumps and related reports just yet. I probably won't get to yours until tomorrow evening or Tuesday.

Regards. . .

jcgriff2

@ineedhelppp - THANK YOU ! !

Re: Vista Help.

no they did not intensify, i only get them when trying to install updates....and its been happening since i got vista on it....so i figured a system restore would really do anything....

Hi. . .

Are you speaking of Windows Updates? What about installed software updates or hardware driver updates?

Are these the primary cause of the BSODs - every time one installs you get a BSOD?

What was the purpose for the registry booster? What was it supposed to do for you - is it a registry cleaner?

Regards. . .

Re: Vista Help.

i've already installed a few windows updates...but for some reason when i try to install the three i have waiting to be installed, it bluescreens me, and it does it for nothing else, but besides that, the purpose of the registry booster was after i got the first bluescreen, after i logged into windows again, there were two .dll files missing from the registry....now the registrybooster has that fixed....but im still getting bluescreened...any input on this would be great about now...
