Vista cannot detect D-link LAN PCI adapter
I recently installed Vista Ultimate as a dual boot to my XP Pro. Installed Vista in a separate HD with its own partition. When I am using XP, i have no problems connecting to internet using my D-Link DFE-528TX vista compatible PCI adapter. My on-board LAN controller VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet adapter was damaged.
When I switch to Vista and go to device manager, it only detects the VIA but not the D-Link. Im also puzzled because according to device manager, the VIA is working properly but i cannot connect at all to internet. Already installed all the vista drivers for sound, D-link drivers for vista but still no luck. When asked Vista to diagnose, it says no LAN cable is unplugged. Is there a way to make Vista detect the D-link? Please help |
