Cannot view website video/radio content

Hello guys, i m new for the site so sorry if i breech any sort of rules by opening this topic, my issue is just so urgent for me i felt i really couldnt wait but ask it

My problem is , i used to watch turkish soccer league online via its tv website and it worked without a problem for a long time.
last weekend my laptop shutdown (no battery left) and when the windows restarted it and i tried to get back the video , it just wouldnt work anymore.
what happens is, when i click on play button of the video, it just says "ready" but gives no video content , it does the same when you click on play again. (i also realized when i tried to maximize the window size of the video feed, it doesnt get maximized anymore)

i realized this is the same with not just that sports channel website but any kind of news website, when ever i try to watch its live feed from its website , or when i try to listen radio stations, it just doesnt start anymore and just says "ready" on the media player.
tried to re-install codec, update wmp, nothing really worked.

what could have caused this issue all of a sudden?
i cant listen any live radio stations or watch video content from it.
i must also finish by saying my media player works perfectly otherwise, it works normal if i want to watch downloaded stuff or a dvd, i can also view videos from websites like youtube with no-problem.

My System

Re: Cannot view website video/radio content

Hi Turk123. . .

Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support!

My first thought about your situation is that an update of some type may have entered your system causing the problems. Therefore, I suggest that you perform a System Restore - to a point prior to the start of your problems.

START | type rstrui.exe in the Start Search box | click on that file | follow the screens and perform the restore.

Regards. . .

Re: Cannot view website video/radio content

thanx alot for replying.
the problem with my system restore is though its not really set manually or something i guess because there is always a few system restore points and all of them are the last couple of days, and they were created after random updates. i remember i could accessed same sort of a calendar with xp and then just click on a date and move back to that day but i guess its not the same routine with Vista cause it wouldnt give me any dates that goes back a week or so what would you recommend me to do now, its just with the websites video/radio content :( that doesnt work and system restore is very different to use compare to xp

Re: Cannot view website video/radio content

Hi Turk123. . .

There may be a selection on either the first or second System Restore screen on the bottom-left that says "show restore points older than 5 days" - this depends on the number of restore points the system has created, tough.

Are there no restore points prior to or around last weekend?

Did you install any new software or hardware around that time?

Regards. . .

Re: Cannot view website video/radio content

what i think always happens is (i dont know if it sounds stupid) this vista makes a system restore everytime i make an update and it usually isnt that long ago, and it doesnt look like it saves up previous ones so i got basically 2 different dates and the oldest is 2 days old :(

so system restore wouldnt work for me i guess :( thanx vista, really thanx i mean these kind of configurations i m sure was needed after xp

i heard stuff about downloading online vista system recovery could you guys have any opinion about that? i dont know where to download those but because i currently dont have a vista cd it looks like my only option right :(
