VISTA SP1 Install Stops at 99% FOREVER
Every time I try and install SP1, it stops at 99%. It goes on forever; it is not frozen, it just never finishes the install. I left the computer on overnight for over eight hours. If I cancel the install, the shutdown screen says not to close because it is finishing. If I leave this alone, it goes on indefinitely. I have also left this on overnight for eight hours!

post a screenshot
press prt scr thats next the f12 key and then goto paint and click edit then paste and save it to ur desktop and post here and did the update come from windows update or microsofts website

Bit of a long shot, but try creating a new user profile with admin privileges and then try running Windows Update again please.
When the install appears to stop, is there any disk/cpu usage occuring?

find the temp folder on ur hard drive where it is storing temp upate files if u have more than 1 partition it could be on logical drives if not then check on ur primary drive....dont forget to unhide all folders....and delete that folder and install again or go to MS website and install it away...:D
