Need help transfering files
I am trying to transfer files from an old xp hard drive to my new vista drive.
I installed the old hard drive in my vista computer as a slave but now when I try to transfer files from my documents I get this error "You need permission to perform this action." I think that the files on the old xp machine were set to private. I would just put the HDD back in the old computer and boot it up to burn the files but the MB is toast in that computer. Any help is much appreciated. |

Hi and Welcome to TSF. The "error" that you received is not an error at all but VIsta's User Access Control (UAC) feature. It is simply letting you know that a system-altering change is about to occur. If you are on an admin account, simply click on Continue, otherwise enter the admin password. This is about the area that you are writing the files to, not where they are coming from. If you have additional questions, please ask! Regards. . . jcgriff2 |
