Voice Error
![]() When i enter a chatroom I get this error message....'computer does not have audio input capabilities or not configured correctly'. I googled this error and found that many with vista errors entering a chat room was 'not supporting audio compression format',(whatever that means).Just cannot seem to find the reason for this...But i can have my headphone plugged into front jack and never get this message entering chat...odd huh? would anyone have a clue as to how to fix this? other than this problem,I am quite happy with vista. thanks.........Hikchick |

Re: Voice Error
Try downloading and installing the voice codec Here
Alternatively Option 1 The DSP codec can be installed on Vista using the following procedure: 1. Acquire tssoft.acm and tsd32.dll *The unzipped file has to be put into the directory "C:WINDOWSsystem32". Then the codec is installed! 2. Open the Windows\System32 directory 3. If tssoft32.acm is present, rename it tssoft32_old.acm. Either way, proceed to the next step 4. Place tssoft32.acm and tsd32.dll into the Windows\System32 directory 5. Create the following registry entry: a. Folder (you may need to create some of these folders: KEY_CURRENT_CONFIG>Software\Microsoft\windows\CurrentVersion\Drivers32\msacm.trspch b. Set REG_SZ value to: tssoft32.acm c. No need to reboot, just close regedit 6. You can verify that the codec installed correctly by going to WMP 11\Help and clicking on “Technical Support Information”. A webpage will open listing all the codecs installed. If tssoft32.acm is listed, you’re set! |
