Vista boot error and blue screen issues

Hello all! This is my first post on here and I'm in need of some good technical advice. Issue #1... I had a couple boot disk issues the past few days. My first error message was that the following file was corrupt or missing...<windows root>\system32\hal.dll... After 3 repairs with my original windows vista cd my computer successfully booted. But than I got a boot disk failure message.... After I turned the power off and then on again my computer booted successfully, but I am not convinced the problem is totally fixed yet.

Issue #2... I've had this operating system for about 2 months now and have had a high number of blue screen errors. One of the blue screens I get repetatively is the IRQL Memory error... I have 4 gb of ram, which when I first installed vista had to install with only 2 gb of ram and then download the fix for the 4... so i'm wondering if this is still not fixed yet either? Any ideas how to get rid of the blue screening???

Any help would be truly appreciaited.....Ben

Re: Vista boot error and blue screen issues

go to 2g of ram or move to 64x
check you do not have a loose cable in one of the drives or at the m/board
check your ram voltage at the makers site, the default of the m/board may be to low and you may be able to lift the voltage up to the makers recommended voltage

Well right now I have 4 gig, and once my computer boots up i have access to both hard drives... I am now running a sandra lite report on all systems to see if that will shed any light on it...
