i have a Win Vista Home Edition laptop. i also have a desktop connected to wireless router. when i switch on the laptop - it does not automatically get connected to internet. the internet icon in the status bar shows disconnected - and i have to run a lot of diagnosis before it gets connected.
usually the diagnosis issue shows the following error - a cable is not plugged into network adapter "Local Area Connection" or "Wireless Capability not turned on" etc. somehow after 5-6 minutes of clicking here and there, the internet comes on. could anyone let me know, as am i missing on something?? thanks |

Re: connecting to internet problem
Hi. . . and welcome to TSF.
Check the Event Viewer to better pinpoint the exact nature of the error. Note the time, attempt to connect to the Internet then look in the Event viewer. START | type "eventvwr" (no quotes) in the Start search box | select eventvwr.exe regards. . . jcgriff2 . |
