Re: Windows Vista Boot Up Problem
How Vista works is a matter of opinion. I've had it installed on more than one occasion and still think it is the 2nd coming of Windows ME. IMHO, it's a resource hungry piece of garbage that should have never been forced upon the public, but again that is just my personal opinion.
Now to access the Vista partition, boot into XP and go to "My computer" you should see the partition that vista was installed on (Possibly D: drive) open it and browse for the files you need to save. Burn them to a CD/DVD, reformat your hard drive and reinstall Windows XP. |

Re: Windows Vista Boot Up Problem
These are the only two options for getting rid of Vista and reverting to XP.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933170 http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=933168&SD=tech My guess is that if XP is unstalled to C: currently and everything is running the way you want it to right now, then you can delete the C:\PROGRAM FILES VISTA and Windows.old. I can't say for sure however. If it were me, I would simply back up any important data, reformat the drive, and do fresh install of XP. The other things I would recommend is getting a good Backup/Recovery program, such as Acronis True Image, and not using illegal software in the future. Good luck to you Brian.
