O&O Defrag and Vista

I have Vista (32 version). Is there any advantage to using O&O Defrag (version 10) over the default defrag?

Re: O&O Defrag and Vista

Like Registry Cleaners, Defragmentation is WAY over-rated. I've seen posts from people that claim that defragging cures cancer, warts and hair loss.

Reason why is it's one of the first things people learn when they start climbing outside the box, and start to become aware of what is really going on. It's something they CAN do, and so it gets elevated in importance way beyond reality.

Vista's defrag is fine. Yes, 3rd party might be "better", they might also cause problems. But the potential for improvement will always be negligible, and the potential for problems more significant. Plus the lost of time & effort messing with the software.

There are plenty other more construcitive, more productive areas to play with than the defrag software. Getting a good anti-virus solution being one, and learning how to use it would be next.
