I am using windows vista home edition.I recently bought Microsoft student with encarta. While installing it I get the following
error

After reading some of the forums I tried this

"""""""""1. Click Start, click Run, type Services.msc -s, and then click OK.
2. Scroll down to Remote Procedure Call (RPC).a. Verify that the Status is Started.
b. Verify that the Startup Type is Automatic.

3. For the following commands, click Start, click Run, type the command, and then click OK.• regsvr32 softpub.dll
• regsvr32 wintrust.dll
• regsvr32 initpki.dll
• regsvr32 dssenh.dll
• regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
• regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
• regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
• regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

4. Restart the computer. """"""""""""

But still I am not able to install encarta. Please help me.

how many places did you post this question? I found two besides this forum.

You may need to contact microsoft and get a replacement disk.

Re: Microsoft student 2008 installation problem

argh, just realised you have done this.

Right click on the installation file and select properties. Then install as an administrator.
