OS: Windows Vista Premium
|
My computer is an HP Pavilion a1114n, but with an extra hard I added myself and some extra RAM. The motherboard is an MS-7093 by MSI.
I am trying to create a striped partition across two hard drives, with Windows Vista Premium. I've run into two problems trying to do this: 1) Windows Vista cannot be installed on a striped partition. 2) Windows Vista Premium does not support "dynamic disks" (its own software implementation of RAID), only Vista Enterprise and Vista Ultimate support dynamic disks. So, I'm not sure how I could do this. I'm not sure how I would even create a striped partition without Vista, even if I did I couldn't install Vista on it, and I can't create dynamic disks with Vista because I only have Vista Premium. What do you suggest? What is ridiculous is that it would cost A LOT LESS to buy a hardware RAID controller than it would cost to upgrade to Vista Enterprise or Vista Ultimate! I don't want to buy a RAID controller, though, as I only have two hard-drives because I happened to have a second one lying around. God, I hate Microsoft!
