Feeling of love hate for Vista Sidebar!
I really like the sidebar, how it displays the weather, my processors and stuff. The amount of bogging down and issues it causes while it boots up when I first start windows makes it not really worht it. Is there a fix for this?![]() |

Re: Feeling of love hate for Vista Sidebar!
If your system is an upgrade to vista you quite possibly would have some performance issues depending on the size of your disk, type of processor, amount of RAM...most users with vista preinstalled on a new system suffer no ill effects from the flashy/fancy effects that vista offers.
You can remove the side bar from starting or you can reduce the number of gadgets that it loads...it's really just users preference. The only "fix" would be to upgrade the system hardware (if yours was not a Vista "off the shelf" version. |

Re: Feeling of love hate for Vista Sidebar!
The sidebar startup is a huge resource hog. You can try tweakvi, but I really don't feel it makes a difference. If you want to use it, but don't want the initial vista startup to take so
long, you can turn it off, then manually turn it on after your system is up. Thats really the only solution that I know of. |

Re: Feeling of love hate for Vista Sidebar!
yeah, and I just noticed you are running 64bit. You should be running at the minimum 2 gigs, though you can get by slow at 1.
