OS: Xp Pro & Vista Business

HELP? Vista Business cannot see NAS or other devices.

Newbie request!

I upgraded from XP Pro to a new machine with Vista Business a year ago (why?) DOH!

PROBLEM: MISSING NETWORK: I have a Tritton NAS200 (missing) and 2 XP Pro and 1 XP home machine (missing) from the VISTA Network.

Ive struggled with this for weeks and searched many forums and previous posts without a solution. I finally ended up just leaving the machine for a year without touching it, because I did not have more time to sort it or learn this new OS as it seemed was required. Nobody I phoned could help. All suggested go back to XPpro. Well I just got started to try again and am head banging it badly! and am ready to lift and shove this machine out the window and watch with delight as it meets the concrete pavement below.

ORIGINALLY: When I first switched it on and attached the network adaptor cable connected to the router/switch all machines/ devices on the network appeared! Wow perfect (?) But .... the next day and probably after a few Vista updates they all the devices disappeared, except for seeing itself only.

1) VISTA Network shows Router and PC1 (itself) only!
2) I can see PC2 XPpro on LAN (wired), SWITCH ,and GATEWAY in VISTA Network Map only, not under view Networsharing Center/ View computers and Devices.
3) PC3, PC4 wireless devices NOT, visable at all but wireless devices can see VISTA machine.
4) NAS (wired) Not visable.
5) I can see the Vista PC on all XP machine and file share.
6) I can FTP the NAS, (guess folder only) I cannot access secure user folders.
7) I connect to it and all XP machines through the VISTA browser by typing the IP or 'NAME'. All remain invisable in the VISTA Network.

DETAILS:

Internet access YES
NETWORK TYPE: Private
FILESHARING Enabled
WORKGROUP (same on all devices)
FIREWALL - all machines (tried OFF and with Exceptions) no difference.
TTLD6 Disabled
TTLD 4 Netbios over TCP/IP (enabled or diabled) no difference.
PC1 VISTA BUSINESS SP1
PC2-4 XP all SP3 w/TTLD
Tritton NAS (lastest firmware)

IPCONFIG /ALL
IP and all appears correctly assigned by DHCP (IP is static on router)
Windows IP Node Type: HYBRID
I do not understand the Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection *1 and another for Tunnel adapter Local Area Connection *7

I look really look forward to resolving this. I pray for patience! and bow humbly for some clever help, ASAP!

Thanks
